Most readers know about affiliate relationships. Lists like BookBub or The Fussy Librarian or Choosy Bookworm bring readers lists of discounted, free, or low-priced books by traditional and indie authors. Yay! If you’re not familiar, you should definitely check them out. The lists benefit through advertising, affiliate payments, and…um, some other special marketing magic, I’m sure.
What some readers may not know is that Amazon also has a site where you can designate a charitable beneficiary. The small print: Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organization of your choice.
Why not? If you have a valid reason for not using the program, feel free to post civil comments to my Facebook.
Not sure who should be your beneficiary? My advice, look local and find an organization near and dear to your heart. Still not sure? I’ve designated Travis County Search & Rescue Team. Feel free to join me and designate them as your beneficiary. =)
